Each year on the Feast of the Sacred Heart many families
perform a Renewal of the Consecration to the Sacred Heart previously made in their Enthronement ceremony.
Renewals are also appropriate at life events such as births, deaths, First Communions,
Confirmations and so forth.
To perform the Renewal ceremony, gather the family together at the place of the Enthronement
before the image of the Sacred Heart and the leader of the family should offer the following prayer:
O Blessed Lord Jesus,
Redeemer of the world,
we prostrate ourselves before you today
and renew our consecration to
Your Most Sacred Heart.
We are grieved today, Lord,
when we think of those people who
still don't know You.
We are even more grieved by those
who do know You and have
turned their backs away from your
Loving Eyes and Most Sacred Heart.
Have mercy on them all, Lord Jesus,
and draw them toward Your Sacred Heart.
Help us to spread this devotion of love
and bring others to you before it is too late for them.
Be King of our home and Master of our lives.
Guard and protect us and our home.
Help us to live the kind of lives you desire.
