The Friday that follows the Second Sunday in Time After Pentecost
is the Feast of the Sacred Heart.
Many Catholics prepare for this feast by beginning a Novena to the Sacred Heart on the
Feast of Corpus Christi, which is the Thursday of the week before.
On the day of the Feast a special meal may be prepared for the family in accordance
with Catholic tradition.
The Morning Offering and an Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart should be made in
prayer by the whole family gathered together preferably in front of the image of the Sacred Heart if enthroned in the home.
Prayers should be made for all priests of the world and the Holy Father.
The family should attend Confession and Mass and receive the Holy Eucharist.
The family may perform a Renewal of the Consecration of the family to the Sacred Heart
ceremony if desired. (Highly Recommended)
